Anastasia Cifers was born in the city of Kyiv, Ukraine, in 1985.
Education
Anastasiia has PhD in Public Administration, also she has two higher educations: a Master’s Degree in Pedagogy (Dragomanov National Pedagogical University, Ukraine 2003) and a Master's Degree in International Relations (KROC University of Economics and Law, Ukraine 2004). Anastasiia is a scholarship holder and graduate of the Harvard Summer School, USA 2017..
Charity
Before her political career, Anastasiia professionally engaged in charitable activities in Ukraine for more than 10 years. She administered the largest national charity action in Ukraine during the Revolution of Dignity in 2014, "Helping families of victims on the Maidan". The foundation collected about 7 million dollars in a week, and used those funds to provide assistance to the families of those killed during the revolution.
Political Activity
After the Revolution, Anastasiia became the Deputy Mayor of the city of Irpin (Ukraine). In a year, she was elected Deputy of the City Council of the city of Irpin. In 2018, she became Acting Mayor of Irpin. After that, she worked as an adviser to the Prime Minister of Ukraine - Oleksiy Honcharuk, responsible for the sphere of education and local self-government.
During her tenure in political positions, Anastasiia founded two schools, three kindergartens, built four medical clinics, opened a Creative Center for children with special needs, and introduced the Irpin Unique educational initiative, which increased the budget for education by 30%, started specialized classes in schools, started scholarship programs for schoolchildren and teachers, and built new sports grounds at schools. She also founded the Participation Budget program in the town, approved the Community Charter, etc.
Today, along with her husband, Anastasiia manages The Cifers Foundation, a family non-profit founded during the first days of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. The Foundation is currently focused on supporting the people of Ukraine as they deal with the devastating impact of the war. In the first months of the war when supplies were scarce, the Foundation supplied military and civilian fighters with self-defense equipment and medical kits. Once these supplies began flowing in from foreign governments, the Foundation shifted its focus to supporting Ukrainian families in need, and has assisted more than 300 Ukrainian families with personal financial support. The Foundation has also supported the education of Ukrainian youth, both at home and abroad, through the printing of Ukrainian books. It conceived and assembled its “My Ukraine” art exhibit, which comprises works of art created exclusively by Ukrainian children, and which was debuted in the Longwood Center for the Visual Arts in Farmville, VA and which is currently on display in Dulles Airport in Washington, DC.
Anastasia is also currently the head of the NGO "European Assembly of Women Deputies", the founder of the national competition "Best Women's Initiatives of Ukraine", Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the NGO "National Network for the Local Philanthropy Development " (Ukraine), Honorary Ambassador of the NGO "International Embassy of Women Entrepreneurs" (Ukraine), and Officer of the NGO "Kyiv Rotary Club International" (Kyiv).
